About Us
Doug Veerkamp is a fifth-generation descendant of a pioneer family in El Dorado County. He and his wife, Lori, started their business in May 1983 after Doug had worked for another major general engineering contractor for eight years. Doug Veerkamp General Engineering, Inc. became incorporated in July 2000.
In the past 38 years, DVGE has grown from a small operation to one of the largest employers in El Dorado County. DVGE is currently considered a mid-size contractor in terms of annual sales volume and payroll. DVGE specializes in excavation, grading, wet and dry utilities, rockery walls, paving and trucking.
The office, located at 3701 Trade Way in Cameron Park, California, houses a large office staff, numerous estimators, safety coordinator, and dispatch for our trucking. There is also a full equipment maintenance shop with a competent crew. DVGE repairs and maintains all our own equipment, including paint and body work. All equipment is kept in excellent condition and any field breakdown is responded to in a timely manner, including a night crew to make sure equipment is prepared for the next work day.
DVGE owns and maintains a large trucking fleet, an equipment fleet numbering over 380 pieces, and we are pleased to offer the best crew in the business to complete your job. Doug Veerkamp General Engineering, Inc. continues to provide support and assistance in the development of El Dorado County and surrounding areas.
